Winter Deer Skull by HalloDream
Winter Deer Skull

skull emoticons XD Well, I figured I drew this digital artwork about the winter deer skull because some deer/stag skulls or bones under the snow in the winter and yeah, it is sad for them.  I wonder if some animal spirits wandering in the forest where their bones buried as their grave area, but, I think they became the guardians of the forest or protect innocent animals/innocent humans from harm.  Some of good spirits and some bad spirits.   I know it sounds like strange, but let's say it is mystery about them, right?  :snowflake  Well, I hope you like this artwork. :peace:

This digital artwork belongs to me.

The Skull

A skull.
Fleshless, cracked
And empty.

Its vacant eyes
Starring
Into the future...
A future that never came.

It, just there
Unable to think
About what could have been
Or to reminisce and remember

A skull,
Just sitting there.
Once filled with a brain
Full of ideas and memories,
Now empty.
Left to sit there on the table
As if it were a paperweight,
Or a centerpiece.

This poem belongs to unknown person.

Deer Skull

Hundreds of skeletons sleeping under the snow.

I don't like the feeling of the treading on sugar-
The snow forms a power layer under me  that makes
Me lose my foothold amidst the tussocks of frozen grass.
There are bird tracks like skewer-holes in a cake,
Pockets of air under the earth's new epidermis
Where the worms breathe chokingly.
There is nothing regal about this world of silence and death;
There are no flowers, only deer skulls,
Rotting skeleton faces missing a jaw that your dog drags up
And brings into theis world of white, a blot against the papery
Snow. It would chatter at me if it had its jaw.  It putrid
But at the same time, grinningly-clean from the snow.
Its teeth look like old hollow treasure chest, sickly yellow
And strangely brittle.   There is a brown leaf in one of the eye
Sockets. As I walked it bumps against my thigh, dilodging
The lead so the skull is gazing at me dully.
Its horns  appear to have lost a layer: parts of them have
A reptilian covering, scaly and wet.   I let my dog take the
Skull careully from me - it was his prize, after all - and
Carry it sedulously in his mouth until it is dropped in his fervour
For something else, and  it sticks up awkwardly out of the ground,
Grinning satanically after me, its horns probing the silent air.

This poem belongs to oxytocin.

On A Night of Snow

Cat, if you go outdoors, you must walk in the snow.
You will come back with little white shoes on your feet,
little white shoes of snow that have heels of sleet.
Stay by the fire, my Cat.  Lie still, do not go.
See how the flames are leaping and hissing low,
I will bring you a saucer of milk like a marguerite,
so white and so smooth, so spherical and so sweet -
stay with me, Cat. Outdoors the wild winds blow.

Outdoors the wild winds blow, Mistress, and dark is the night,
strange voices cry in the trees, intoning strange lore,
and more than cats move, lit by our eyes green light,
on silent feet where the meadow grasses hang hoar -
Mistress, there are portents abroad of magic and might,
and things that are yet to be done.  Open the door!

This poem belongs to Elizabeth Jane Coatsworth.

"CAT'S DREAM"

How neatly a cat sleeps, sleeps with its paws and its posture, sleeps with its wicked claws, and with its unfeeling blood, sleeps with all the rings- a series of burnt circles- which have formed the odd geology of its sand-colored tail. I should sleep like a cat, with all the fur of time, with a toungue rough as flint, with the dry sex of fire; and after speaking to no one, stretch myself over the world, over the roofs and landscapes, with a passionate desire to hunt the rats in my dreams.
